We Didn’t Start the Fire

Editors Note: We're blogging through We Didn't Start the Fire by Billy Joel.

We listen to many genres of music. It’s not surprising to hear my family singing along to Crazy Train, The Lion Sleeps Tonight,Folsom Prison, Amazing Grace or Play That Funky Music White Boy.

One song that caught my children’s interest was Billy Joel’s We Didn’t Start the Fire. They looked up the lyrics and wondered about many of the events and people mentioned. We watched the video on youtube and it sparked an interest in the history sung about.

So, we are going to dig into the song a bit over the next several months.

Here are the lyrics and the events/people we’ll be researching.
