DitchingSuburbia For Sale

For Sale: One lovingly-created, fun, and memorable brand, along with the related website (that you are reading right now..;).

Many, many details are forthcoming. I’ll get together traffic reports, SEO statistics, mailing list numbers, etc for your review. We’re not sure yet what the asking price will be. Or the process of giving new owners the keys (the backend build is a bit complex).

But I wanted to get the word out that MsBoyink and I have decided to get out of the travel/lifestyle/blogging/platform-building game. Our heart just isn’t in it anymore.

However - we do feel the name, brand and website have value and would like to see someone carry on the work we’ve started. Is that you? Contact us to start the conversation.

And I know - some of you will wonder what we’re up to and what we’ll be doing next. Truth is - we don’t know too much yet. I’ll soon write a post to catch you all up on where we are at and where we think we are going.

    Hey Mike,

Just wanted to drop you an email, so as not to take up a bunch of your time. Having been through the empty nester thing myself I know what it feels like to have that, “Now what?” question pounding loudly inside one’s head.

The good news is you guys are asking God, seeking His direction for your lives. I’ve been praying for you both, brother.

While I’m sad not to see the weekly musing anymore, and I certainly understand why, I am happy to hear that you two will still be out there traveling.

My wife, Maxine, and I felt throughout the winter and spring of this year that God wanted us to stay put for a while. I believe He wanted us to just focus in on Him and seek His divine direction. All the while we have continued with our remodel turned major renovation of our home.

Now we feel like He has given us some direction. The house should be ready to go on the market sometime next spring. When it is sold we too will hit the open road. I truly hope to meet up with you guys someday, Mike.

Having read, with eagerness, the weekly email from both of you and just about everything on your website, I feel like I have gotten to know you somewhat. Of course having God in common does make us brothers in Christ.

Anyway, hope to see you out there, may God bless you richly, and we will keep praying for you both.

    In Christ’s Love,

Thanks Bob! I’ll soon be writing a final newsletter which will talk more about what’s up in our world.  Thanks as always for your comments and prayers - we do much appreciate them!

Good to see your blog post. Change is a “constant” in life, and change caused by an “empty nest” is normal.. In our case a cross-country move ensued. We do promise you’ll find a new flow, but don’t be surprised if you go through several iterations prior to whatever the next big milestone is; grandparenting, retirement, etc.
All the best in finding a buyer for “Ditching Suburbia.” You have a gift for writing, Mike, and I hope you will find another outlet for it.
Even if you return to a more conventional “sticks and bricks” type of life, when the urge to travel hits, know that you two are welcome to drop in off the I-75.  Stay in touch and may God bless and guide both of you in the days ahead.

Thanks Norm - I appreciate your comments. Crissa has mentioned you guys a number of times over the past couple of weeks - and a visit isn’t yet out of the question! We’re still praying and seeking God’s will for what’s next. In the mean time He’s keeping care of us with some free RV parking and short-term work here in MI.
