Goodbye and Hello!

Welcome to the new Our Travels section of Boyinks4Adventure.com.  While I had envisioned a kickoff post with a dramatic closeup of keys turning in the ignition, a foot on an accelerator pedal, and a speedometer rising from zero, instead you’ll have to settle for a tired geek..;)

I’ll shoot some photos and video as we actually do leave, but am unsure of when I’ll be able to post them and I wanted to get this part of the site going.  We are pretty close to being ready, I have tools and clothes and possibly a battery conversion to do on the trailer tomorrow.  MsBoyink has the kitchen, laundry and food plan to finalize.  I’ll also be closing out my office, putting the desktop PC in storage mode, and pulling down the house network.

So this will be the last update from the stationary house and will transition us out of the “Pre-Trip” blog to the actual travel blog.  Each post here will contain a Google map to show where it took place and possibly photos and videos as well. These map points will be linked to from the home page map so you’ll be able to see our progress.  I’ll use per-state categories to group entries together at a state level.

Stay tuned as we put the wheels on this dream - and if you are so inclined we’d appreciate your prayers.  This feels a bit like leaving for a camping trip, the first day of school, the first day of owning your first car, and the first day of home ownership all rolled into one big weekend.
