Illinois

Another state. Another college buddy.

Becky (and Rich) live relatively close to the route we were taking towards Michigan. It was only right that we changed course to stop in for a visit. Both Rich and Becky work at home, so they were able to make time for us during the day.

We stopped in just before lunchtime (we have great timing). We noshed on homemade sweet potato fries, toasted Italian bread with olive oil and prosciutto, and fresh apples dipped in Nutella while catching up each others’ lives. Rich and Becky talked about their recent trip to Italy, Becky’s new business (she “retired” last year after 20 years with Unilever), their families, and Rich’s ability to communicate with the neighborhood squirrels ;) . We, of course, talked about our Adventure (year 1). We had a great few hours of visiting before heading back to the interstates and continuing our drive towards Michigan.

Thanks, Becky and Rich, for making time in your day to visit and feed us. Let’s do it again soon.
