We bought two inflatable kayaks but one needs a repair and some accessories so on this day we paired up as adult/child combinations and took turns padding Sugar Creek through Turkey Run State Park. The creek is very clear and clean and we saw lots of fish. There were also a number of Canadian Geese and Blue Herons.
The river has a couple of faster parts than we had experienced in the slower rivers of Florida so it was a good “next level” experience for us.
We’re looking forward to exploring Michgan’s rivers this summer - so if you have a favorite kayaking spot in the mitten state leave us a comment and tell us about it!
