Our review of the meori Foldable box system with cooler, picnic organizer, cover and strap accessories.
Organize your snacks and table service with this on-the-go foldable box solution from meori.
As fulltime RVers we are on the move a lot. When we are moving the RV we are usually on the road for at least 4 hours a day. Sometimes more.
On adventure/exploration days we are often gone all day.
We get hungry. We get thirsty.
We’re not vacationing. We’re on a budget. We can’t afford to buy snacks and meals along the way. We usually pack a cooler of cold food for a meal and then also carry granola bars, trail mix, fruit and nuts.
I’ll admit it. I’m an organizational freak. I don’t mind living in a small space so long as it’s organized. I mainly just hate searching for stuff.
Keeping our food organized in the truck wasn’t the problem. Soft-sided coolers work well for that.
It was all the other stuff.
Cups. Forks. Knives. Napkins. Plates.
One way we get a cheap hot meal out is to stop at Walmart for a rotisserie chicken. We’d end up eating like savages, pulling chicken off by hand then wiping the grease off on each other.
OK - not quite that bad.
But attempts to carry plates, cups, and plastic ware in the truck all failed. They ended up floating loose at the bottom of the toolbox all dirty, broken and unusable.
meori (and yes, their company name is lower-case) contacted us to see if we were interested in reviewing their foldable box system.
I was only slightly interested until I saw their Picnicker accessory. The Picnicker has straps and pockets to organize your plates, cups and silverware.
Just what we needed.
I had meori ship us a complete system including:
Here’s our unboxing of the meori system:
The meori system comes nicely packaged.
meori's picnicing accessory organizes your table service.
The picnicing organizer kept wanting to fold in - a minor annoyance.
Putting water and snacks into the middle of the Picnicker solved the "fold-in" issue. Now we are ready for a driving day with drinks, snacks and table service all organized.
The meori box fits nicely on the rear seat of the truck.
Use of the shoulder strap allowed us to easily carrying the meori to the beach for a picnic.
The meori on the beach in Destin, FL. I removed the cover right after this photo because the breeze was getting under it and it was going to blow away.
Sunset over meori
We used the Meori system in the truck on a driving day and at the beach in Destin, Florida. Here are our thoughts on the system:
What We Liked
- The construction feels solid - like it will last for years
- The folding and unfolding is quick and easy
- We love how it snaps to stay folded down
- Our key set is on a D-ring which we could clip to a grommet
- The system works well for daytrips, picnics, family reunions, cookouts, etc
- Folding down when not in use is great for RVers with limited storage space
What Could Use Improvement
- The cover needs to attach to the box rather than just slip over it
- There’s no way to use the shoulder strap and cover at the same time
- The Picnicker insert tends to “fold in” if it’s empty in the middle
- The Picnicker insert should follow the box’s lead and have a way to snap down or velcro down when folded up
- The box isn’t huge - we’re not sure what other uses we’ll find for it (it’s too small for laundry, etc)
If you are looking to solve a similar organization issue we’d suggest taking a look at the meori system.
