Usery Mountain

We’re about to wrap up our week here at Usery Mountain just outside of Mesa.  Here’s how the week went:

MsBoyink and the Kids: Meet local homeschooling family for play time and conversation.
Boyink: Works.

MsBoyink and the Kids: Meet local homeschooling family for rock climbing, play, and conversation.
Boyink: Works.

MsBoyink and the Kids: Venture out to the local Renaissance Fair for fun shows, food, and general gawking at people really into this scene.
Boyink: Works.

MsBoyink and the kids take part in some ranger talks here in the park, learning about what’s edible in the desert.
Boyink: Works.

MsBoyink and the kids attend a couple meetups, one with other local homeschoolers and one with other Nomad or soon-to-be Nomads Courtney and Milli Baker, Sue and Joel Canfield, and Kevin and Jennifer.
Boyink: Attends too!

MsBoyink and the kids go to a Spring Training game.
Boyink: Works.

Sounds bad - but It’s actually been fine.  The work is important to get ready for next week’s ExpressionEngine classes and will be re-usable for a while once done.  The park has been pretty and quiet during the day, giving me inspirational views and a nice circuit to walk/bike while taking breaks.  We’re close enough to Mesa that laundry, grocery shopping, car washes and all the social events have been relatively close.

We need to be in Phoenix for a bit after the two weeks of classes, and will probably come back here again.

It was a real pleasure meeting your family, including Mike. It was nice he didn’t have to work when it came time to visit with us, Courtney, Kevin and Jennifer.
